About one-eighth of Clinton County residents vaccinated

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County Commissioner Jeff Snyder said at the commissioners’ Thursday board meeting that about one-eighth of county residents have been vaccinated against COVID-19 to this point. The commissioners provided an update on inoculation opportunities for county residents and expressed some dismay that the state Health Department will not be setting up a regional vaccination site in Clinton County.

Commissioner Angela Harding said a yet to be disclosed site in Centre County has been selected, despite a pitch from Clinton County to house such a site. Snyder said, “It’s not right to us to have to travel to another county.”

He repeated a refrain from the last few months, that the biggest problem in getting shots is supply.

The commissioners thanked UPMC for its inoculation site at the Dunnstown Fire Hall and said Geisinger Jersey Shore is open to online registration to get on a list for an inoculation appointment.

Harding noted there have been 45 COVID cases reported in Clinton County over the last several days and the county remains one of “substantial spread” of the virus. She again encouraged county residents to continue to follow federal guidelines to mitigate the COVID spread.
