One of ‘Those’ Nights for Shamokin
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was one of those nights.
One of those nights where nothing went right no matter how hard you tried. The opposing team imposed their will for the duration of the contest and you lost big. Fortunately that was the fate of visiting Shamokin as they faced the Wildcats at Malinak Stadium in a 10-0 Wildcat offensive onslaught.
Central Mountain split their effort fairly evenly in the game scoring four goals in the first period and six in the second … with many more shots on goal missing by a very narrow margin.
No matter how youthful the CM lineup was, The Indians had no answer to shut down the Wildcat scoring machine. Which was a different look as the margin of victory for Central Mountain’s first four games was never more than two goals.
Another benefit was head coach, Jeff Brinker, had the luxury of substituting at will to get some of his underclassman some valuable varsity experience.
The Wildcats are off unit next Tuesday when they travel to Selinsgrove.
Be sure to check out the video report for some highlights and coach Brinker’s comments.
