Carol Ann Brungard – Obituary

Carol Ann Brungard, 76, formerly of Mill Hall passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte.

Born September 4, 1944 of Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Vaugn and Loas (Laubscher) Williams.

She graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1962 and then earned her nursing degree from Poly Clinic Nursing School.

In 1969, Carol married her love, Harold L. “Big Lou” Brungard, Jr., with whom she shared 51 years of marriage before his passing on January 9, 2019.

She was a Registered Nurse at Lock Haven Hospital, from where she retired after serving in various departments of the hospital throughout the years as well as in Community Nursing.

Carol was a dedicated member of United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lock Haven, where she served on the Alter Guild and Church Council.  She was also a Sunday School teacher as well as the head of Vacation Bible School.

She was a former member of Bald Eagle Ridge Runner Camping Club and was instrumental in the Friends of the Mill Hall Community Pool group.

Along with camping, Carol enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an avid Penn State football fan.

Surviving are two sons, Harold L. “Lou” (Tracie) Brungard, III and their son, Kurtis and Matthew W. (Jennifer) Brungard and their children: Gannon and Kamdyn, all of Bellefonte; and a brother, Vaughn (Peg) Williams, Jr. of Julian.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday December 14, 2020 at 11 A.M. at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pk., State College with Rev. Karl Runser, III officiating.  Friends and family may arrive at 10:30 A.M. for a time of gathering.

Memorial contributions may made through the funeral home to Centre Crest to assist with the construction of their building, specifically the Chapel.
