Never-Say-Die Bulldogs Fall in PIAA Finals, 21-14
HERSHEY, PA – The Jersey Shore Bulldog football team showed remarkable resiliency in their first-ever PIAA championship football game. Down 14-0 well into the third period, they mounted a ferocious comeback before falling, 21-14, to defending state champion Thomas Jefferson in the Class 4A title game on Saturday.
‘Shore scored with just 34 seconds remaining on a Branden Wheary 3-yard touchdown run, the extra point bringing the Bulldogs within 21-14; they followed that with a successful onside kick and got to the 21 yard-line before a fourth down pass play was broken up by an aggressive T-J defense as time expired.
But it was a remarkable comeback by ‘Shore as they had the Jaguars on their heels in the final quarter. The Bulldogs finished with just one loss. Therecord-online will have a complete story later Saturday.
