COVID-19 Update: Surge Hits Clinton County; Up a Record 76

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health COVID Data Dashboard Saturday shows Clinton County with by far its greatest one-day increase in cases, from a previous high of 38 on Friday to another 76 reported on Saturday, running the county total to 723. Additionally 11 deaths are attributed to the coronavirus since the daily tally began in the county.

The health department also reported that as of 12:00 a.m., November 28, that statewide there were 8.053 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 351,667. The 8,053 figure is the second biggest one-day case increase since the pandemic began earlier this year, exceeded only by the 8,425 recorded on Thursday.

The state reported an additional 41 deaths attributed to the coronavirus, the state total 10,275.

Local counties’ numbers: Clinton County, up 76 (the highest one-day increase to date, the previous high 38 on Friday) to 723 Centre County, up 154 to 6,142; Lycoming up 85 to 2,067. Other area counties include Cameron, 26; Clearfield, 1,588; Potter, 208; and Union, 1,643.
