Programs for the Week of June 22nd, 2020 at Hyner Run State Park

(North Bend) –  Hyner Run State Park is offering three “Terrific Turtles” programs at 3:30 PM, 5:00 PM, and 6:30 PM on Friday, June 26, 2020.  Join the park naturalist to dive into the world of turtles. Some of the topics that will be covered include different turtles that are found in Pennsylvania, their adaptations, and their diet. This program will also have a craft.  All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate.  Also, all participants will need to follow the CDC Guidelines and have a mask with them in order to attend these programs.  These programs will be registration only, and may be cancelled in the event of severe weather. Registrations will be taken for each of these programs by calling 570-753-6005, or by going to DCNR’s calendar of events.  Meet at Pavilion #1.

On Friday, June 26, 2020, at 8:30 PM, join the naturalist for a program called “Flight of the Bats” at Hyner Run State Park.  This program will focus on topics such as bats’ adaptations, different kinds of bats, some myths about them, and learning about something that is threatening their population.  A movie will also be shown.  All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate.  Also, all participants will need to follow the CDC Guidelines and have a mask with them in order to attend this program.  This program will be registration only, and may be cancelled in the event of severe weather.  Registrations will be taken for each of these programs by calling 570-753-6005, or by going to DCNR’s calendar of events.  Meet at the amphitheater.
