Sharon Maurer Webb – Obituary

Sharon Maurer Webb of Salona passed away on Sunday, June 14th at UPMC Williamsport after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  Sharon was born in Lock Haven, PA on February 10, 1947 to the late Lorene (Probst) and Woodrow C. Maurer of Woolrich.  She was the wife of the late James P. (Bud) Webb Jr. who passed away July 2, 2016.

Sharon grew up in Woolrich and was a Brownie, Girl Scouts and member of the MYF at the Woolrich United Methodist Church. Sharon was a 1965 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She graduated from the former Williamsport Area Community College’s Practical Nursing program in 1969 and the Greenhouse Management Program in 1984.

Sharon worked at the Woolrich Woolen Mill, Lock Haven Hospital, Thomas & Lytle Associates, CAPS, River Farm Market and operated Sharon’s Greenhouse in Salona for 13 years.  Along with her husband Bud, Sharon operated the Webb Farm Bed & Breakfast in Rosecrans for 20 years, worked on the family farm and in the family business, Webb’s Super-Gro Products.  The B&B was the site of many employee gatherings and family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners over the years.  Sharon enjoyed hosting family and friends.

Sharon was on the board of directors for Unkel Joe’s Woodshed and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Woolrich United Methodist Church and attended the Bald Eagle Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall.

Sharon loved her family, extended family, friends, best friends, and the companionship of her cats.  She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and meme.

Surviving are her beloved brother Wade C. Maurer of Caldwell, niece Kelly Maurer (Matt) Poorman of Pittsburgh, stepdaughter Jennifer (Steve) Babcock of Jersey Shore, stepson Eric (Carolyn) Webb of Carlsbad, CA, grandchildren Megan & Carly Babcock of Tampa, FL, Gunner & Haven Webb of Carlsbad, Lyndsay (James) Adkins & Landen Adkins of Muncy, aunt Florence Bailey of Woolrich, sister in law Marietta (James) Bala of Bonita Springs, FL, brother in law David (Judy) Webb of Flemington, bonus family Lynn, Kristen, Ashley, Jill & Holly and childhood best friends Lucy, Jacque & Mala and many friends and beloved cousins.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745.  Please wear a facemask and remember to social distance.

A Graveside Service will follow at 2 P.M. at Rest Haven Memorial Park with Pastor Susan Champion officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Clinton County SPCA, Bald Eagle Presbyterian Church or Woolrich Methodist Church through the funeral home.
