Mamie R. Shade – Obituary

Mamie R. Shade, 98, of Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
She was born in Aaronsburg on December 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Raymond C. King and Florence C. Tressler Allen.
Mamie served as a homemaker most of her life. In her earlier years she worked at Bobbie Brooks, as a cook at the Valley Hotel and at the Dining Hall at Penn State University.

She enjoyed attending local bingo events and crocheting.
She is survived by five children, Theodore (Patricia) Shade of Tennessee, June Swope of Lock Haven, Bill (Tess) Shade of Florida, Margaret (Frank) Bechdel of Bellefonte and Sandra Shade of Mill Hall; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Shade; and eight siblings, Mary Hevner, Ray, Arthur, Bruce, Tom and Irvin King, Ivalu Bernard and Phyllis King.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial at Schenck’s Cemetery, Howard.
