Shirley M. Decker – Obituary
Shirley M Decker, 89, passed away surrounded by her family and friends on 01-23-2020 at UPMC Haven Skilled Rehab. She was born in Mill Hall to the late Grover C and Ethel M Seyler.
Shirley was preceded in death by her late husband, William C. Decker and three sons, William, Robert and James Decker; one brother Richard Seyler and four sisters, Helen Rogers, Geraldine Ishler, Mariam Snyder, and Betty Brooks.
Shirley is survived by one brother, Clair Seyler and one sister, Marchua Weaver, both of Mill Hall.
In her younger years Shirley and her late husband loved skating at Hecla Park, going on trips and baking. She was an avid and knowledgeable football fan especially of Penn State. Shirley also was a collector of Cardinals and loved her jewelry.
She loved spending the holidays with her family, Scot and Kim Wetzel and Sherri and Nick Robertson. She treasured her great niece, Morgan Wetzel which she was very much involved with.
Shirley was able to spend her last 5 years with her dear friend, Lorraine Croak. They both shared many things in common and especially the love of Penn State football. Lorraine’s family, Deb McCully and Joe Jodun also meant so much to her and made her a part of their family.
Also, she had a great friend, Marianne Schrack, who treated her like family and continued to stay in touch with her.
Shirley adored her caregivers at Haven Skilled. She loved each and every one of them and how they made her feel like family.
Funeral services for Shirley M. Decker will be held Monday, January 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W, Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Pastor Bruce Wallace. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Jacksonville Cemetery.
