Tom Shortledge, Walker’s Hardware Owner, Passes Away

LOCK HAVEN – Thomas James Shortledge, 64, of Lock Haven passed away Friday, December 13, 2019.

Born October 24, 1955 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Thomas E. and Emma C. (Zimmerman) Shortledge.

Tom was a 1974 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

On August 7, 1976, he married the former Cathy Barzona with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.

Tom was the owner of Walker’s Hardware, Lock Haven, for more than 25 years. The store was a big part of his life, and he could often be found there helping his customers.

He enjoyed the outdoors, whether hunting or just being in the woods.

Most importantly, Tom loved the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Cathy Shortledge, he is survived by three children: Ben (Leah) Shortledge of Idaho, Tom (Liz) Shortledge of New Jersey and Mary Beth Zimmerman of Lock Haven; four grandchildren: Colby, Owen, Jack and Lucy Shortledge; and two brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 3 until 6 p.m. at Walker’s Hardware, 7 First St., Lock Haven.
