Wildcat Soccer Drops Shik, 5-1
SUNBURY – The Wildcat boys’ soccer team opened up their conference schedule with a decisive 5-1 road win over Shikellamy.
Central Mountain set the pace early with Trey Gentzel and Jeremiah Thomas scoring 2 goals each in the first period and held a 4-1 lead at the break.
Shik’s lone score came as a result of a penalty kick with 15:11 remaining in the first period and it was the Brave’s only shot on goal in the game.
Jason Killinger would tack on an insurance goal in the second period to set the final 5-1 score.
Thomas, Alec Leuthold and Naaman Conaway all had one assist each for the Wildcats.
In all, the ‘Cats outpaced Shikellamy, 17-1 in shots on goal and 8-1 on corner kicks.
Central Mountain is off until Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 when they will host Danville and on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 they will host Shikellamy, a game that was originally scheduled for Sept. 26. The JV game is set for 4 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
