Shik hands Wildcats 4-1 Road Loss

tennisSUNBURY – The Wildcats made a road trip to Shikellamy on Monday and the Braves handed Central Mountain a 4-1 loss in boys’ tennis.

Shik’s Mason Brubaker picked up a hard-fought win over Central Mountain’s Morgan Talbot, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles. Then Gavyn Walker tipped the scales for the ‘Cats with a 6-4, 0-6, 6-3 tie-breaker win over the Brave’s Cameron Crowley at No. 2 singles. The momentum shifted once more with Shikellamy’s Miles Mogish getting past CM’s Ujjvall Adroja, 6-4, 6-1.

At No. 1 doubles, Shik picked up another win when Darell Lyles and Ulysses Mercado took down the Wildcat duo of Brady WIlliams and Ethan Hall, 6-2, 6-4. Then the braves picked up their last win of the day when Cade Auman and CJ Doebler outlasted Central Mountain’s Jackson Walker and Leisher Gugino, 6-3, 7-6.

Central Mountain moves to 1-2 with the loss and will next see action when they host Hollidaysburg on Thursday, March 28, 2019.
