CMHS FFA Team Ready for PA Farm Show (Video Report)
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain High School students in Paul Bohnert’s Agriculture Mechanics class are competing in this year’s Pennsylvania Farm Show on January 4th through the 12th.
The students will be entering their restored 1956 John Deere 420 T, in the third annual Tractor Restoration Competition. In order to qualify for the competition, the students must complete a record book, a video, and a 15 minute presentation.
Students freed the engine rebuilt the head and carburetor. Cleaned all rust and grease, fixed holes, bent tin work, and primed and painted the tractor.
As a member of the FFA, the Central Mountain team will come home with a $200.00 prize from the farm show and $600.00 from Lancaster Farming, a competition sponsor. The team will also be vying for prizes in other categories including: BEST OF SHOW, BEST VIDEO, MOST IMPROVED, BEST PRESENTATION, and BEST RECORD BOOK. They have a chance to win an additional $1000.00 in prizes.
