Wildcat Soccer Come Up Short Against Huskies, 2-1

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain built a 1-0 first period lead against Mifflin County in their last home game of the season, then the Huskies rallied in the final 24 minutes of the game to pull out a 2-1 non-conference win.

CM got on the board when Dalton Bechdel passed the ball inside to Jensen Brown for the score with 6:54 remaining in the first period.

Mifflin County had the edge in corner kicks, 7-2 while the Wildcats outpaced the Huskies in shots on goal, 13-9.

Brown led Central Mountain with a team high 7 shots on goal, while Brayden Brungard added 3 more. Bryce Neff, Chase Young and Caden Malek had one shot each for the ‘Cats.

Cy Probst had 7 saves on the night at keeper for CM.

This was the last appearance on the home pitch at Malinak Stadium for the Wildcat seniors, Brayden Brungard, Tommy Pringle, Ashton McCloskey, Garrett Hagaman, Dalton Bechdel and Steven Giordano.

The ‘Cats move to 3-13-1 overall, 2-9-1 in the PHAC.

Central Mountain will travel to Altoona for their last game of the season on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018.
