Shik Rolls UP 5-0 Win over Central Mountain
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – it was another tough outing for the Lady Wildcat soccer team as they fell to visiting Shikellamy, 5-0.
Shik scored their first two goals in the first 8 minutes of the game to hold a 2-0 lead at intermission.
Early in the second period the fog started to roll into Malinak Stadium and so did the Shikellamy offensive intensity.
The Lady Braves then kept up the pressure on the hosts by adding 3 more goals throughout the second period for the 5-0 win.
Shikellamy held a very extensive lead in the offensive stats on the night with the bilk of the action taking place in the Central Mountain defensive end of the field. In all. Shik amassed 25 shots on goal to only 4 for CM and the Lady Braves had the edge in corner kicks as well, 4-0.
Avery Baker had 4 shots on goal while Elizabeth Bottorf had 1.
CM keeper, Hailey Swortwood had a busy night with 12 saves.
The loss takes Central Mountain to 1-13, 07 in the PHAC.
Next up for the Lady Wildcats is a road trip to Selinsgrove on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018.
