Milton Takes Down Lady Wildcats 5-0
WOODWARD TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcats changed their venue for their regular season home opener with Milton to the West Branch Fields on Saturday to add an extra event to the Cara Day Memorial tournament hosted by the Central Mountain junior high girls’ soccer program.
The change of location did not bring good fortune to Central Mountain as they fell to the Lady Panthers, 5-0 in a steady and chilly dismal rain.
The game was close in the first period with Milton holding a slight 1-0 lead heading into intermission.
In the second period, Milton picked up the pace and the flood gates opened as the visitors poured out four more goals for the 5-0 win over the hosts.
With the defense under pressure most of the game, junior goal keeper, Hailey Swortwood turned away several attempts for 11 saves on the day including a stellar stop on a Milton penalty kick.
The loss takes CM to 0-3 on the season with their next game on the road at Shikellamy on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018.
