Shady, Brown Making an Impact at Lycoming

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Two former standout Lady Wildcat softball players are making an impact at the collegiate level with the Lycoming College.
The Lady Warriors recently completed an 8 game spring trip to South Myrtle Beach, SC where they faced: Wesly, Spalding, Emory and Henry, Rutgers-Camden, Gettysburg, Alfred State, Brooklyn and Frostburg State and cam home with a 3-5 record.
Racheal Shady is in her senior season with Lyco and has struggled a bit in the circle with an 0-4 record so far this season. Shady has pitched 24 2/3 innings in 5 games for a 3.69 ERA. In all, Shady has played in 109 games for the Lady Warriors and has a 26-26 career record as a pitcher.
Shady also contributes as an outfielder and designated hitter when she is not in the circle and has a .941 fielding percentage this season. Shady has also been a force in the batter’s box for the Lady Warriors this season including 2 doubles and a triple that fueled 9 RBI for a .375 batting average.
Madison Brown i beginning her sophomore season at Lyco and is pegged at second base but has also seen time at shortstop filling in for an injured teammate.
Brown has pounded out 5 singles on the new season for 4 RBI and a .263 hitting percentage. Defensively Brown has a .848 fielding percentage so far in 2018.
Lycoming will open their Shangraw Athletic Complex season on Thursday, March 22, with a 3 p.m. doubleheader against King’s.
