‘Cats Fall 2-1 in Tight Game with Shik
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was a game of two halves between Central Mountain and visiting Shikellamy. In the first period, neither team could score on the other and all the offensive payoff came in the second period.
With the score knotted at nil-all after intermission, Shik took a 1-0 lead at the 30:16 mark then the Wildcat’s Jensen Brown responded in kind when he hit pay dirt at 28:09 to put the ‘Cats make the score 1-1 off a Brayden Brungard assist.
Less than six minutes later Shikellamy added one more score to their tally that would secure the win for the braves.
Shikellamy had a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks while Central Mountain had a slight edge in shots on goal alt 10-9.
Nick Andrus recorded 6 saves on the night for Central Mountain.
The loss sets the Wildcat season record to 3-6-1 for the season.
Next up for the ‘Cats is a road trip to Shamokin on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017. There will be no JV game at Shamokin.
