Selinsgrove Slams Lady ‘Cats 7-0

cm-soccerBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was a long night for the Lady Wildcat soccer team Tuesday night as they hosted Selinsgrove at Malinak Stadium. Unfortunately, the Lady Seals bright their ‘A Game’ and scored early and often in a 7-0 scoring clinic.

Selinsgrove attacked sharply and quickly moving the ball at will against a tested Lady Wildcat defense, though Central Mountain could not find an answer to quell the onslaught.

The Lady Seals built a 5-0 lead in the first period but were not as successful on the offensive side of the ball in the early going of the second period. The Lady ‘Cats did threaten often in the second period but just couldn’t complete the deal against the Lady Seals defense.

Selinsgrove outshot Central Mountain 13-3 and held a 6-2 advantage on corner kicks. Alyssa Dickey recorded 13 saves on the night at keeper for the Lady ‘Cats.

There was a bright spot on the night as many local AYSO soccer youngsters were on hand to participate in pregame tea introductions and some of the younger players volunteered of their time to serve as ball boys and girls to help keep the game moving.

Central Mountain will next see action on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 for an 11 a.m. varsity contest with the JV game to follow.
