Williamsport Prevails over Lady ‘Cat Soccer, 3-0

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat soccer team played solid defense against Williamsport but could’t quite stop Williamsport from earning a 3-0 win at Malinak Stadium.

The Lady Millionaires attacked steadily in the first period and the Lady ‘Cat defense repelled each attempt until the 33:38 mark when Williamsport finally found the back of the net.

Central Mountain did respond with a few forays into the Williamsport end of the field, but the Lady Millionaire defense responded in kind, quelling those attempts.

WIlliamsport held the 1-0 advantage into the second period when they score again at the 9:42 mark. The Lady Millionaires recorded their final score with 8:22 remaining in the game for the 3-0 win.

WIlliamsport had a distinct advantage in shots on goal over CM at 13-3 while corner kicks were more even at 3-1 in Billtown’s favor.

Alyssa Dickey had a very busy night setting the pace for the defense with 10 saves.

The loss takes Central Mountain to 3-7 on the season and will next see action when they host Selinsgrove on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017.
