Clinton 9-11 All-Stars Outpaced by Montoursville 15-5
LOCK HAVEN – The Clinton 9-11 All-Stars opened District 12 play hosting Montoursville tonight.
Montoursville jumped out to a 8-2 advantage after one inning and continued to add to their lead scoring single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings, then tacking on 4 more in the sixth.
Clinton attempted to battle back late in the game scoring a lone run in the fifth inning and plated two more runs in the sixth inning.
Leading the way offensively for Clinton was Madison Toner with a triple and a double while Jacey Tripp also had a triple and Caitlyn Shade added a base hit.
Julia Shubach and Kara Stover shared duty in the circle combining for four strikeouts while giving up 8 hits and 12 walks.
Montoursville and Clinton are the only 2 District 12 9-11 teams entered in the tournament and will play the best-of-three bracket. The next game is slated for Monday, July 11 at Nippenose with a 6 p.m. start.
