Garbrick Honored By USA Today All-State Selection
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain grad, Alex Garbrick received another honor for his efforts with the Central Mountain Wildcats baseball team as he was named to the USA TODAY High School Sports American Family Insurance ALL-USA Pennsylvania Baseball Team.
Garbrick was a first team All-State selection of Pennsylvania high school players as a pitcher.
Garbrick played in all 22 games for the Wildcats in 2016 and held a 1.35 ERA for his senior season going 6-2 in 8 appearances on the mound for CM. Garbrick recorded 60 strikeouts and an unprecedented 3 no-hit efforts to his credit.
Offensively, Garbrick was also a key contributor for the Wildcats batting .333 on the season with 21 hits (including 3 doubles and a triple) and 11 RBI. Garbrick also had a successful larcenous streak in 2016 stealing 14 bases on 16 attempts.
Garbrick is also a member of the 2011 Keystone All-Stars Little League baseball team that won the Mid-Atlantic Championship to qualify for the Little League World Series.
Garbrick will attend Morehead State University where he will further his studies and continue his baseball career.
