Opening Set for New Renovo State Store

RENOVO — After a lapse of a number of years, a state store in Renovo is about to return.

Therecord-online has learned that a ribbon-cutting and grand opening has been set for Friday, July 1 at the Commonwealth’s new Wine & Spirits Store at 167 Seventh St. The ribbon-cutting is set for 11 a.m. on that date.

Workers have been readying the store in recent weeks, the Huron Avenue/Seventh St.  location most recently the Renovo Farmers Market operated by David Glick. At one time a Widmann’s Store, it had served as an Amish market from the spring of 2014 until closing at Christmas time last winter.

A state store had been located in the former Knights of Columbus building on Erie Ave. in Renovo but moved out some years ago, the building ultimately torn down.
