Bank Robbery in Lock Haven
LOCK HAVEN – Shortly before noon today, there was an armed robbery at the Bellefonte Ave. branch of the Santander Bank. Early reports indicate that a man dressed in camouflage clothing made off with an an determined amount of cash. There are also unconfirmed reports that there was a report of a stolen vehicle in the same general area of the bank. It is not known if the two incidents are related.
As a precautionary measure, all City elementary schools were locked down and maintaining a “shelter in place” condition. Keystone Central School District indicated on their website that all the affected students were dismissed from their respective schools safely and the schools would return to normal operations tomorrow.
The branch office is currently closed pending further investigation of the incident.
On Dec. 19, 2013, at 11:51 a.m. the pictured suspect robbed the Bellefonte Ave. Branch of the Santander Bank. The suspect is desribed as a white male, 5’5″ possibly in his 50’s.Wearing a camoflauge jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt and something orange or red around his neck. At 1:24 p.m. a black 1994 Toyota Celica was stolen from the 300 block of Bellefonte Ave. The registration plate on the vehicle is JKY5404.
