CMMS Tree of Hope and Resilience
MILL HALL-Following a discussion on the importance of perseverance, students were challenged to create a community project reflecting these values. A student’s suggestion to “push through the tough and negative stuff” and another’s idea for a “tree of hope” quickly took root. Mrs. Anderson, recognizing the project’s alignment with the school’s “ALL IN” theme—”You are seen, You are heard, You are loved”—presented the idea to Principal Laura Fragassi, who gave her immediate approval. The Anderson family donated a flowering cherry tree for the project, and the CMMS property service team, Mr. Sam Hoy and Mr. Harlan Dickey, generously provided their expertise with finding a place for the tree, digging a hole and donating mulch. On September 23rd, a special ceremony was held with Mrs. Anderson’s Block 1 students, Mrs. Fragassi, Dr. Redmon, and other 6th-grade classes looked on as students Ean Engle, Jaxson Reeder, Tucker Owens and Mrs. Anderson planted the tree. A plaque will be placed beneath it, reading, “CMMS Tree of Hope and Resilience, Mrs. Anderson’s Block 1 2025-2026,” as a lasting reminder of the school’s commitment to hope, resilience, and the message that every student is seen, heard, and loved.
