By Christopher Miller
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Martin Lewis and Kedda Bissman of Bucktail High School spoke to the school board Thursday evening to update them on the end of year happenings at the high school.
“We are busy with testing, Music in the Parks at Hershey Park where we brought home awards for concert band and spirit decor. They said we were the most professional and well-behaved band attending,” Kedda said.
“On May 5 the Keystone Scholar group of CMHS and BHS toured Commonwealth University-Lock Haven . The Art Club is busy painting the waterscape mural on the hospital annex building. Recently, businesses came to the Bucktail campus to show off careers for the future and the military was there, too. Our Senior Class Trip is coming up to Ace Adventure Water Park in West Virginia for three days. The Bucktail Band Spring Concert is coming up on May 22 and the end of year award day is on May 29”
Kedda and Martin also included in their report that the Bucktail Ecology Class has been invited to come to Washington, D.C. to tour the capital and observe the Senate. This is due to their work to change the State Fossil to the Hynerpeton, a 300 plus million year old creature that once roamed the swamps of the Renovo area. In the 90s, the fossil was discovered and so far has only been found to be unique to the Hyner area.
