Obituary – Bonnie Elizabeth Ehrhart

Bonnie Elizabeth Ehrhart, 76, of Hyner passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 22, 2025 with her daughter and neighbor, David Hanobic by her side.

Born October 24, 1948 in York, PA she was a daughter of the late Spurgeon Levere and Louise Elizabeth (Emig) Ehrhart.

A proud graduate of Dover High School, Bonnie’s thirst for knowledge led her to Barrington College in Rhode Island, and she furthered her education by earning a master’s degree in special education from Millersville College.

Bonnie’s professional journey was marked by her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to education. As a special education and homebound teacher, she touched the lives of countless students. She loved to sing, and her voice often graced the different sanctuaries of churches she attended. Most recently, she attended First Baptist Church, Lock Haven. She often found time to volunteer leading bible studies at Clinton County Correctional Facility.

Bonnie found immense joy being in the mountains, her heart as open as the landscapes she explored. She was happiest when outside on the farm, gardening and caring for her animals.

Friends and strangers alike were drawn to Bonnie’s magnetic personality. She was a woman who exuded warmth, courage, and determination. Her home was a haven for many, a place where others were taken in and became part of her extended family. Bonnie’s heart was open to those in need.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Alysia Elizabeth Larson and her husband, Paul Robert Larson of East Greenwich, Rhode Island; five grandchildren, Juliana Marie Larson George and her husband Ezra, Chara Ceidy Larson, Stephen Samuel Larson, Daniel Paul Larson, and Jacob Grant Larson; a brother, Spurg Ehrhart, and two sisters, Peggy Meyers (Jack) and Joyce Frey (Robert); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
