Bald Eagle Township – Representing Central Mountain Middle School was 6th grader Caroline Sidaris updating the board on what is going on at the school.
A survey was sent to students of which 455 responded. Of this number, 75% of students say that they feel safe while riding the bus to and from school. Students are reviewing the data to find the “top buses” with the most issues to address problems on those buses with administration.
“Overall,” Caroline said, “most buses are safe for students.”
Students participated in a lockdown drill and provided feedback to administrations, saying that it was very hard to get out of sight from the doors when Student Resource Officers came by to examine the students during the lockdown.
Teachers and students are working hard to prepare for the PSSA tests. April 23 – May 1 is the general timeline for the administration of the state tests.
For Central Mountain High School government, Christian updated the school board on happenings there, beginning with the announcement of the school’s spring drama performance of Chicago.
“We have some extremely excellent talent coming up on stage,” Christian said.
The drama club also expressed their appreciation for the new microphones that were purchased for their upcoming performance.
“Baseball, softball, boys tennis, and track & field have all begun,” he said. “We are also progressing into our fourth quarter and everyone, especially seniors, are thinking about their future plans.”
Student government is also looking to make changes, having conversations with students to gather ideas.
