MONTGOMERY- Bucktail Lady Bucks head coach Suellen Wagner knew her team needed to finish strong. With just one more week remaining in the regular season, her team did just that at Montgomery.
Bucktail, who currently is sitting at the eighth and final playoff spot, desperately needed a second win over the 2A Lady Red Raiders.
The Lady used a strong 21-10 second half effort to knock off Montgomery and improve their mark to 5-13 on the season.
Bucktail took a slim 6-3 lead after one quarter of play, but the hosts battled back and managed to tie things up at 15-15 at the break.
Kendall Wagner led the Lady Bucks with 14 points. Senior Matti Mason netted 8 point, while Eva Sockman scored 4 points and pulled down 19 rebounds. Arionna Winkleman also added 4 points in the win.
The Lady Bucks will have a huge final week of regular season. It will begin on Monday in an important battle at Sullivan County and it will continue with a home game on Tuesday against Curwensville, two games Bucktail will be favored in. They will then host Muncy on Wednesday and host West Branch on Thursday. The top 8 teams in District IV 1A qualify for playoffs.
