Shopping Experience Revamped: Skeleton Key Boutique Celebrates Reopening Under New Ownership
By Emily Wright
LOCK HAVEN— On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Skeleton Key Boutique, located at 19 E. Main Street in downtown Lock Haven, celebrated its grand reopening under new ownership with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and “Girls’ Day Out” shopping event. The boutique’s new owner, Abigail Barroner, originally from Duncansville, PA, introduced herself to the Lock Haven community with an eventful day that included giveaways, refreshments, and special promotions.
Barroner, who also owns WillowBranch Boutique, LLC in Duncansville, moved to Lock Haven just two weeks ago to embark on this new entrepreneurial venture, and just six days later, she reopened Skeleton Key Boutique as its new owner.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by a small group that included members of Barroner’s family, staff, and notable community figures, including Ben Green, Chamber & Leadership Director of the Clinton County Economic Partnership & Visitors Bureau, and Melissa Dally, Downtown Lock Haven Inc. manager.
“Thank you to my family for helping me get started. Since I’ve been in Lock Haven, everyone’s been super welcoming and helpful,” Abigail expressed before cutting the ribbon.
The event featured an array of enticing incentives to stop in, including complimentary charcuterie cups, cookies, and other refreshments, a free gift for the first 25 customers, a chance to win a $50 gift card with any purchase, and a giveaway basket loaded up with goodies. Barroner also added an element of fun to the shopping experience on Saturday by hiding a skeleton key somewhere within the boutique. The lucky person to find it will receive a Skeleton Key Boutique gift card.
In addition to a fully stocked array of new arrivals in clothing, accessories, and gifts, Barroner aims to continue Skeleton Key Boutique’s legacy, and she is committed to prioritizing affordability and inclusivity, ensuring a wide range of clothing available in sizes from small to 3X. “One thing you should know about me is that I like to keep prices low and quality high,” she said in a recent post on the Skeleton Key Boutique Facebook page.
Eager to foster relationships with customers, Barroner will also leverage technology by using the Skeleton Key Boutique app, which is expected to launch by Monday, December 16. The app will host her weekly live streams showcasing new inventory and the latest fashion trends on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.
Barroner welcomes community members to stop in the boutique, with convenient hours from Monday to Saturday.
To close her introduction to the community on the boutique’s Facebook page, Barroner said, “I am so thankful for this opportunity and absolutely cannot wait to meet all of you and continue Skeleton Key Boutique!”
