Lady Wildcats Wrap Up PHAC Play

SELINSGROVE-The Central Mountain girls soccer team traveled to Selinsgrove for a challenging matchup, arriving to a spirited Senior Night celebration hosted by their opponents. The home team took control early, jumping to a quick lead, and never relinquished their advantage.

With the conclusion of PHAC conference play, the Lady Wildcats finished with a 2-6 record, an improvement that has them climbing a few spots in the standings compared to previous seasons. The team is hopeful that this progress signals the start of a positive trend for future seasons.

A key takeaway from the game, which was highlighted by the team’s success earlier in the week against Shamokin, was the importance of clock management. The Wildcats learned that both early and late goals in a half can be detrimental, and limiting opponent shots in the closing minutes is essential for maintaining control in tight games.

Next up for the Lady Wildcats is a rescheduled match against Penns Valley on Saturday night, with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Malinak Stadium.
