LHU’s Ethan Beck named Men’s Soccer PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week
LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven men’s soccer freshman goalkeeper Ethan Beck was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday (Sept. 30).
The honor is the second straight PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week for the Bald Eagles, after fellow goalkeeper Brady Freiwald brought home the distinction last week (Sept. 16-22).
Beck led the Bald Eagles to a 1-0 victory on Saturday night after securing his first-career shutout. Beck made four saves, including two from point-blank range to maintain the Bald Eagles’ advantage.
On Wednesday, Beck made his first start on the season and made five saves against East Stroudsburg.
Lock Haven is victorious in three of its last four games, with victories over California (Pa.), Millersille and Shepherd. Its lone defeat came in a 1-0 thriller at the hands of ESU. During the run, Lock Haven has secured three shutouts and currently ranks second in the entire PSAC with five goal against.
The Bald Eagles enter the week with a 3-3-1 overall record and 1-0 mark in the PSAC West. Lock Haven will host Pitt-Johnstown for a Western Division showdown on Wednesday (Oct. 2) at 7 p.m. at Hubert Jack Stadium.
