Lady Wildcat Soccer Battles Against State-Ranked Shikellamy
MILL HALL-The Central Mountain Lady Wildcats faced a significant challenge as they squared off against the PSCA #2 team in the state (AAA) and PHAC I leaders, the Shikellamy Lady Braves, in a tough conference matchup. The young Wildcats entered the game with nerves but battled hard and completing key passes that forced the Lady Braves to work for every opportunity on the scoreboard. The Lady Wildcats ultimately fell to the Lady Braves 13-0.
Despite missing several players for various reasons and having others step into new positions, Central Mountain held their ground. Goalkeepers Cora Seyler and Alyssa Ford delivered, making several saves throughout the night.
Coach Veltri said, “PHAC remains a challenging league, but the Lady Wildcats continue to improve with each game. Led by their seniors, the team is working hard to learn and develop their skills while maintaining a positive attitude. With smiles on their faces, this group has earned the full support and pride of their coach.”
“There is no other team I would rather be with,” he said after the game. “Keep kicking, Cats!”
The Lady Wildcats will prepare to host Penns Valley Senior High School on Monday.
