By Autumn Gavlock
LOCK HAVEN- Anticipation is running high in Woodward Township, with the announcement of GO Joe 27 arrival. Known as the “Year of Inflatables,” this annual charity bike ride by WNEP’s Joe Snedeker, benefiting St. Joseph’s Center, will take center stage at the upcoming summer concert series. Set for Sunday, July 21, amidst the performance of Trip the Light, the arrival of GO Joe 27 will set the stage for an unforgettable event kicking off the next morning at the Woodward Township boat launch.

Organizers are calling for widespread participation, urging everyone to mark their calendars for the following key events; fill the floating stage on July 21 to witness GO Joe 27 surprise appearance during the Trip the Light concert and July 22 at 4:45 a.m. at the Woodward Township Boat Launch, where Joe will be set up to give his morning forecast. The event will run from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Preparations have been underway for weeks, with numerous organizations collaborating to orchestrate the event. Key players include KCSD, Woodward Township Supervisors and Fire Company, Commissioners & Planning Department, Downtown Lock Haven Inc., Lock Haven City, and Lock Haven City Summer Concert Series, along with additional community partners.

The organizers are in need of inflatables for the event and are reaching out to the community for assistance. Contributions and loans of inflatables are encouraged, with a promise of their safe return. But it doesn’t stop there; organizers are also seeking volunteers to make sure the event goes above and beyond expectations. They’re not just focused on inflatables; they’re also scouting for food trucks, including a pierogi truck, to add a delicious twist to the festivities. Rosie’s Pierogies food truck has been contacted, with hopes of securing their delicious offerings!

In a lively social media post from members of the Clinton County Economic Partnership, the vision is clear: they want this event to be a hit with families. Plans are in motion for children’s games and other activities that’ll bring smiles to everyone’s faces.

The specifics of Joe’s route are still being ironed out, as there may be a need to make adjustments to include a stop in Williamsport. Presently, the plan entails crossing Veterans Bridge, but further details are pending confirmation.

The excitement is evident as the community eagerly anticipates the arrival of GO Joe 27 and the festivities that will accompany it. Stay tuned for further updates as the event draws near, and join in the excitement as Woodward Township prepares to welcome GO Joe 27 in style.
