  • Renovo Police Department News Release June 11, 2024: 

Renovo Police have charged Erin Bruno, 36, from Renovo, with one count of Theft by Deception and one count of writing bad checks stemming from an incident that occurred on May 8, 2023, at Lingle’s Market, located at 150 15th Street in Renovo. 

Bruno is alleged to have deposited a check for $80.27 to a bank account using mobile deposit. On the same day, she cashed the same check at Lingle’s Market and received the funds for it. According to the police report, Bruno was given the opportunity to pay the value of the check plus fees; however, she failed to do so.

Fraud/Theft by Deception 

Renovo Police are investigating a case of fraud and theft by deception of an elderly resident from Renovo. The victim was scammed into sending approximately $3,000.00 to the suspect for a dog, which was supposed to be sent to the victim, however, the dog was never received. Police remind residents never to send money over the Internet or through prepaid gift cards to people they do not know.
