LHU’s Eli Washington named PSAC Champion Scholar for Men’s Basketball
LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven standout student-athlete Eli Washington has been named the PSAC Men’s Basketball Champion Scholar, the league office announced Saturday prior to the PSAC Men’s Basketball semifinal game in Erie, Pa.
Washington earned his bachelor of science degree in sport management in May 2023 with a 3.91 GPA, as a member of the Dean’s List during every semester. Washington is currently studying to earn his mastor of science in sport and exercise psychology, carrying an overall graduate GPA of 3.53.
Washington becomes the second Bald Eagle this winter to be named a PSAC Champion Scholar and he’s just the fifth ever Lock Haven student-athlete to win the award since it started during the 2011-12 school year. He’s the first Lock Haven men’s basketball player to ever win the award.
A standout point guard for the Bald Eagles over the past four seasons, Washington has scored 907 points, dished out 261 assists, pulled in 327 rebounds and made 112 steals.
Washington started the first two games of the season before going down with an injury and was leading the team in minutes (34.0), points (16.0) and assists (4.0).
Washington has a season of athletic eligibility remaining.
