Obituary -Violet Ruth (Englert) Pugh
Violet Ruth (Englert) Pugh, 85, of Farwell, passed away on January 1, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport.
Born in Hyner on November 20, 1938, Violet was the daughter of the late Clyde and Dorothy (Wadsworth) Englert.
Violet attended Renovo High School and graduated in 1957. Upon graduation, she entered the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, CO. While stationed at Lowry, she met the love of her life, LaRue Pugh. They married on March 17, 1959 in Golden, CO. and went on to enjoy many years of marriage together until his death on March 26, 2001.
Violet’s greatest joy was her family.
Surviving are two sons, LaRue (Chong “Yumi”) of Dillsburg, PA, Randy Pugh of Farwell, and two daughters; Katrina (Mike) Bixler of Renovo, PA, Kimberly Pugh of Lock Haven, PA; four grandchildren, Tanya (Nick) Gentzyel, Megan (Joseph) Houser, Tara Parker, and Daniel (Leah) Pugh; five great-grandchildren, Aubrey Haynes, Caroline Peck, Gianna Gentzyel, and Blake and Gavin Houser. She is also survived by a sister, Jean (Larry) Ditty Sr. of Farwell; a niece, Linda (John) Watach; and four nephews, Coolidge (Rose) Dingman, Jr., Larry Ditty Jr., Eric Ditty, Jason (Mandy) Ditty, and Justin (Katie) Ditty.
In addition to her beloved parents and husband, Violet was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Pugh; two sisters, Bernice Dingman, Frances (Allen) Knisely; and a nephew, James “Jimmy” Mason.
Services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Violet will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lock Haven, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, PA
Memorial donations may be made in Violet’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
