Lock Haven’s Noto selected for 2023 NWCA All-Star Classic
LOCK HAVEN, PA – No. 2 ranked (125 lbs.) Anthony Noto (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) of the Lock Haven men’s wrestling team has been selected for the 2023 National Wrestling Coaches’ Association (NWCA) All-Star Classic. The exhibition event is set for Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Penn State’s Rec Hall.
Noto, a returning All-American, will face off with top-ranked Matt Ramos of Purdue at 125 pounds.
After Noto’s remarkable 2022-23 season, he was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Wrestler of the Year.
The major season-ending award followed Noto’s remarkable run to All-American honors. The Bald Eagle earned All-American honors after a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
He became the 44th NCAA Division I All-American for the Bald Eagles, and the first since 2019. Noto also claimed his second consecutive individual MAC title last season.
The Bald Eagle finished last season with a sensational 34-4 record and Noto will enter the 2023-24 season with a remarkable two-season record of 65-7 at Lock Haven.
