UPMC Susquehanna Announces Plans for Expansion
WILLIAMSPORT – UPMC Susquehanna, in celebration of two years of partnership with UPMC, today unveiled a plan to transform patient care through two major expansions. Backed by nearly $115 million in local investments and investments from UPMC, an all-new center of excellence for physical medicine and rehabilitation at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center will complement UPMC’s advanced specialty care in northcentral Pa.

The new center for excellence at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport will extend from the UPMC Susquehanna Tower, creating a new four-story footprint to take the place of the current medical office building at 699 High St. The $100 million building will create the infrastructure needed in the operating rooms, medical and surgical suites, and critical care units to support the advanced life-saving and rehabilitation services necessary to provide full trauma services by 2020.
A $13 million investment will transform UPMC Susquehanna’s Cancer Center at Divine Providence into UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. With added space and a new patient-centric footprint, it will include physician exam rooms, open chemotherapy bays, private chemotherapy rooms, and additional office and support space designed to help improve the patient experience.
