Keohane paces Lady Wildcats at NEPA Invite
BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Central Mountain girls cross country team competed at the 2023 NEPA 5K XC Invitational on Saturday on the campus of Bloomsburg University. The Lady Wildcats finished 11th out of 19 teams.
Sophomore Grace Keohane led the way for the Lady Wildcats. Keohane ran a new PR finishing in 25th place out of 174 runners in a time of 21:20.30. “Grace continues to get better and better with every race. She is still figuring out where her pace needs to be, but has had incredibly fast finishes. I am looking forward to see how she progresses here in October,” said Coach Scott Bair. He said the entire team has been running well and close to their PR’s on a weekly basis.
Meanwhile the Central Mountain boys cross country team was up for the challenge on Saturday at the same event. Damien Winner was the first Wildcat to cross the finish line. Winner finished in 52nd place in a new PR time of 18:37. “Damien is starting to find his legs and continues to drop time. I am looking for big things from him at the District 6 meet,” Said Coach Bair. Two other Wildcats ran new PR’s on the day. Riley Gonzales ran 20:09.70 and Shayden Hill ran 20:58.30.
Both Wildcat teams will travel to Mifflinburg on Tuesday to compete in a quad meet.
