Bucktail tennis runs over Wellsboro 5-0, now 11-0

WELLSBORO, PA- For the second time this season, Bucktail tennis steamrolled the Lady Green Hornets of Wellsboro 5-0. Bucktail didn’t lose a single contest throughout the match and went a perfect 10-0 on the day Tuesday to improve to 11-0 on the season.

The Lady Bucks are currently battling Hughesville, South Williamsport, Jersey Shore and Central Columbia for the top seed in the upcoming PIAA District IV 2A team championships. Bucktail trails Hughesville for that top spot.

Alexis Lowery cruised by once again from the number one position 6-4, 6-1 before Gigi Balchun picked up the 6-0, 6-2 win. Mak Wagner closed out the singles competition with ease, winning 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles it was another dominating showing from the Bucktail tandem of Eva Sockman and Kendall Wagner.

Sockman and Wagner would win 6-0, 6-1. Giada DeMarte and Kedda Bissman rounded out the perfect afternoon by winning their contest 6-2, 6-0.

Bucktail will step back into Mid Penn Conference action on Thursday when they host the Lady Indians of Muncy at 4 p. m, which will be Senior Night for Bucktail.
