LH Men’s Soccer plays to 0-0 draw with Shepherd
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Despite playing to a scoreless draw, the Lock Haven men’s soccer team (2-2-3, 0-1-2 PSAC East) and visiting Shepherd (1-5-1, 0-3-1 PSAC East) treated the Saturday-night Homecoming crowd to a fast-pace match and an overall exciting 90 minutes of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action.
Lock Haven goalkeeper Brady Freiwald (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was credited with one save, but it was a brilliant diving save off a free kick. The second-half stop proved huge and helped keep the clean sheet.
Tom Pombor (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport), Jimmy Pombor (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport), Connor Swope (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) and Otto Hull (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) all led The Haven charge.
Kade Black (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was also a key contributor on defense helping the Bald Eagles secure the shutout with a pair of first-half team saves. Black cleared back-to-back Shepherd shots off the goal line.
The result marks Lock Haven’s second straight tie.
Despite neither team finding the back of the net, the Bald Eagle offense pushed hard and both teams created prime scoring changes.
Swope and Hull both nearly put Lock Haven up late as The Haven pushed hard in the final 10 minutes.
