Bulldogs roll over Mifflinburg, 57-6

MIFFLINBURG, PA – On a rainy night in Union County, the Jersey Shore Bulldogs traveled to Mifflinburg for a Saturday contest vs the Wildcats and came home with a 57-6 win.
The Bulldogs’ rushing game was on fire to start the contest for Jersey Shore with Tate Sechrist running wild, 17carries for 221 yards and 3 TD and Elijah Jordan adding 7 carries for an even 100 yar ds and 1 TD in the first half. Sechrist led with TD runs of 1, 3 and 8yards. Jordan had a season long, electrifying 61-yard rush on a toss sweep.
Brodie Herr was 5 of 6 on PATs and added the team’s first field goal of the season (30 yds) and Jersey Shore led at halftime 44-0.
The pass defense also led the way with three 1st quarter interceptions highlighted by Peyton Whitman’s pick six of 26 yards to add to the scoring column.
Early in the second half Bo Sechrist added a 34 yd rushing TD at the 9:04 mark (Herr PAT) and Elijah Jordan added his second rushing touchdown of the game.
Carson Watkins and Evan Snyder both secured interceptions in the second half, Jersey Shore’s sixth and seventh of the game. The Bulldog pass defense has 12 interceptions in the past two games.
Mifflfinburg avoided the shutout with a rushing touchdown as time expired to make the final score 57-6.
The Bulldogs improved to 4-0-1 while Mifflinburg dropped to 3-2.
Jersey Shore remains on the road next Friday in Allentown vs Executive Education Academy. The game will be played at Muhlenberg University.
