Warrior Run downs Lady ‘Cat soccer, 6-0

TURBOTVILLE, PA – In what would be a tale of two halves, the Central Mountain Lady Wildcats on Saturday visited Warrior Run who exploded for five unanswered goals in the second half to end the game netting six. The first half ended with the home team taking the lead heading into the half-way mark. The Lady Wildcats were strong defensively and kept the home side at bay. The ball was in the blue and white’s defensive end for most of the play but Madison Hardy made some big saves. The Lady Cat’s couldn’t settle the ball and weren’t clinical enough when they had the ball to maintain any possession of the ball. Heading into half-time down by one goal was a positive for the Lady Wildcats at this point in the season.

The second half deflated the visiting team. Five goals slipped by the goalkeeper and the Lady ‘Cats couldn’t navigate the attacking threat of the Lady Defenders of Warrior Run. Central Mountain ran out of steam, they were able to get two shots at goal but nothing threatening enough to cause any trouble.

The JV team slipped by the home team one-nil; Harper Conklin recorded her first high school goal assisted by Camry McCann. Harper found herself in the attacking third a couple of times but the Lady Cat’s only needed one to secure the win. Hannah Englert recorded her first shutout in goal, her very first time playing the position.

The Lady Wildcats head to Lewisburg Monday.
