Jersey Shore at Selinsgrove ends in 21-21 tie

SELINSGROVE, PA- Jersey Shore took the trip south on Rt. 15 for an early season matchup with its most consistent annual rival in the Seals of Selinsgrove.
Both teams came in at 2-0 with lopsided wins in the first two weeks of the season & were facing off for the 20th time in the past 10 years.
The game started off with the scoring being fast and furious asJersey Shore scored first at the 11:06 mark of the first quarter on a 39 yd rush by Tate Seachrist; Brodie Herr added the PAT and the Bulldogs were up 7-0.
On the ensuring kick off, Tucker Teats tied the game with an exciting 97 yard return; the Cater Young PAT make the game 7-7.
In the second quartered, Bulldog QB Jerrin Loomis gave Jersey Shore a lead capping off a 14 play drive on a 1 yard sneak at the 7:36 mark; Herr’s PAT made it 14-7.
The Seals came right back at the 6:05 mark with a Mark Pastore to Gavin Bastion catch & run for 44 yards to tie up the score at 14.
Just before half at the 1:48 mark, Tate Sechrist scored his 2nd rushing TD to take a 21-14 halftime lead.
The second half saw both defenses rise to the occasion and both teams offensive units ground to a halt forcing the punting games of Brodie Herr and Carter Young to try to establish field position.
Selinsgrove finally tied the game at the 3:21 mark to play on a Teats 22 yard burst . The scoring play was set up by a pass interference penalty on 4th & 10 to give the Seals a crucial first down.
The game ended with 11.8 seconds remaining after a Jersey Shore player collapsed during a TO on 4th & 10 for Selinsgrove. resulting in extended break in play. After a 20+ minute delay, the game was called as a tie.
Both teams move to 2-0-1 with the Bulldogs returning home to Thompson Street Stadium to take on the Braves of Shikellamy.
