Credit card theft at Hyner Park results in $4,000 loss

CHAPMAN TOWNSHIP, PA – A Harrisburg woman is out more than $4,000 after thieves stole multiple credit cards from her unlocked vehicle on Hyner Run Road in Chapman Township; the thieves then used the cards at two different Walmarts in State College.

Police said the actor(s) used one PSECU credit card for $2,008 in purchases and another for $2,006.

Their report said the victim was a 37-year-old female and the cards taken last Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. from her unlocked Jeep. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Lamar at 570-726-6000.

State police are also investigating what they have labeled an undetermined death. They said the victim was a Lock Haven man, no age or identity given. They said they were summoned to Pine Mountain Road in Wayne Township for the incident; the time reported from 4 p.m. Aug. 24 through 5:22 p.m. on Aug.25. That investigation is continuing, police said.
