Dentist office building damaged in weekend fire

LOCK HAVEN, PA – A late Saturday night fire badly damaged a brick structure housing the Dr. Suzanne Edwards dentist office at 15 W. Water Street in Lock Haven.

Firemen responded to the 11:47 p.m. Saturday alarm and found fire showing from the first floor of the two and a half story structure. A second alarm was sounded for additional units for the site and on standby at city fire stations.

Firemen had the fire under control in an hour and were on scene for better than four hours. Officials thanked the Lock Haven YMCA for offering bottled water and use of their Water Street facility.

Authorities said there was extensive fire and heat damage on the first floor and heat damage to the second floor. A state police fire marshal visited the site Sunday morning, the cause undetermined at present.
