PennDOT issues update on I-80 resurfacing in southeastern Clinton County
CLEARFIELD, PA– PennDOT says the contractor for a highway resurfacing project along Interstate 80 will change the traffic pattern on Monday, August 28. This project will improve the ride quality and extend the life of four sections of Interstate 80 between mile markers 190 and 193 near Loganton and Carroll in Greene Township.
Contractor Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. will close the right (travel) lane of I-80 eastbound at mile marker 190 and reopen the left (passing) lane. It will then begin excavating the existing concrete in preparation for pouring the new concrete roadway. The contractor closed the passing lane on I-80 westbound at mile marker 190 on Wednesday, August 23, for the same purpose. PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution, to be alert for construction vehicles making sudden stops, and not to follow construction vehicles into the closed lane as they deliver material while driving through this construction zone.
Overall work on this project includes roadway paving and bridge approach slab repairs, a $3.5 million project. PennDOT anticipates completing these two sections later this year and the remaining two sections during the 2024 construction season. All work is weather-dependent.
