Commonwealth University – Lock Haven kicks off fall semester with multiple events

LOCK HAVEN, PA – As the summer comes to a close, Commonwealth University – Lock Haven is geared up for another exciting fall semester filled with engaging events and activities for students. With enrollment numbers already surpassing last year’s figures, the university this week welcomed a fresh batch of talented individuals eager to embark on their academic journey.
The local school is reporting an increase in overall enrollment compared to the previous year. The official number of students in the incoming freshman class is not yet available as changes to schedules can still be made during the drop/add period, however, the incoming freshman class alone boasts a total of 544 students.
The start of the fall semester was marked by the university’s annual “New (School) Year’s Eve” Party, a lively event aimed at fostering a sense of community among both new and returning students. Upcoming festivities will offer an opportunity for students to mingle and get to know their peers, setting the stage for a vibrant and inclusive academic environment.

Wednesday, Aug. 23
• Student Involvement Fair: Ivy Lane, 3-5 p.m. Join a club and get involved! Clubs and university offices can register online for a table.
• DEI Belong-B-Q: 5:30 p.m., Poorman Commons
• CSF Kickoff: 6:30 p.m., PUB Room 2. Join Christian Student Fellowship for dips and appetizers, followed by a service with worship and Bible teachings.
• S’mores with Greek Life: 7 p.m., Poorman Commons
Thursday, Aug. 24
• Welcome Back Celebration: 11 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., Upper Bentley
