Father, son die in Sugar Valley drowning accident

LOGANTON, PA – A Saturday night family fishing accident on a pond in Logan Township resulted in the death of a father and his juvenile son.

Lamar state police say the incident occurred Saturday just before 9 p.m. at 2594 W. Valley Road in Logan Township. The police report said officers responded to a drowning at the site; a father and three children were fishing in a pond on the property when their boat capsized. Two children swam to shore but the father and other child subsequently drowned.

The names and ages of the victims were not released by police; their addresses listed as Loganton.
